Shopify takes payments on your own Shopify checkout, through a draft order Shoply makes there when the buyer presses Pay. It connects through an app you make for your store in Shopify’s Dev Dashboard.

In Shopify

  1. Open Shoply’s Shopify dialog. It shows an App URL and an Allowed Redirection URL to copy.
  2. Open the Dev Dashboard, signed in to the organization your store is in. Open Apps, press Create app, choose Start from Dev Dashboard, name it, and press Create.
  3. On the app’s Versions page, create a version. Paste Shoply’s App URL as its App URL and the Allowed Redirection URL as its redirect URL, exactly as Shoply shows them.
  4. In the version’s Scopes, add write_draft_orders and write_orders, and set its webhooks API version to 2026-10. Then Release the version.
  5. In the app’s settings, copy the Client ID and the Client secret from its Credentials.

In Shoply

  1. In your Shoply dashboard, open Settings, then Payment Methods.
  2. Under Add a Payment Method, find Shopify and press Connect.
  3. Paste your store’s myshopify.com address into Store Address, such as mystore.myshopify.com. Its address in the Shopify admin works too.
  4. Paste the Client ID and the Client Secret. The secret is the app’s, not an access token.
  5. Press Test Connection to try what you pasted, then Connect App.
Saving sends you to Shopify to install the app on your store. Install it, and Shopify sends you back with Shopify connected. Until then its card says Not Installed, and buyers are not offered it. How Shopify works once it is connected, at the checkout and on an order, is in Payment methods.
