Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record: it sells to the buyer, handles sales tax and VAT, and pays you out. It sells only products of your Lemon Squeezy store, so Shoply sells each order as one product you make for it.

In Lemon Squeezy

  1. Make a product for your Shoply orders, with a one-time price of any amount, and publish it. Shoply sells each order as it, at the order’s own total and under the order’s name.
  2. Open Settings, then API. Make a key, name it, and copy it as it is shown: you see it only once. A key made in test mode sees only your test data.
  3. If your key can see more than one store, find the store’s ID under Settings, Stores.
Lemon Squeezy’s API keys last a year. Make a new one before yours runs out, and save it in Shoply, or payments stop. Lemon Squeezy’s own docs do not say where its dashboard shows a product’s ID. Shoply refuses a number that is not a product of your store when you save, so a wrong one cannot get through.

In Shoply

  1. In your Shoply dashboard, open Settings, then Payment Methods.
  2. Under Add a Payment Method, find Lemon Squeezy and press Connect.
  3. Paste the key into API Key, the product’s ID into Product ID, and the store’s ID into Store ID if you needed it.
  4. Press Test Connection to try what you pasted, then Connect App.
Saving refuses a product that is not published, belongs to another store, or has only a subscription price. It sets up the webhook that tells Shoply about your payments too. How Lemon Squeezy works once it is connected, at the checkout and on an order, is in Payment methods.
