A globe with a dot for every place somebody is looking at your store from. The dot grows with the number of people there.
A line is drawn from your store to a place while something arrives there, and is gone when it lands. White is a visitor. Amber is an order nobody has paid yet, which exists from the moment a checkout is opened. Mint is a paid order. An order you watch from Buy to paid is two lines, amber and then mint.

Where they came from
Every visit is filed under one channel.
A campaign is a link you tagged with
utm_campaign, utm_source and utm_medium, all three together. Visits through it are listed with what they went on to buy.
A store with affiliates gets an Affiliates list as well: clicks on each link, and the orders it led to. A visit through an affiliate’s link is still filed under the channel it arrived by.
Which visit a sale belongs to
An order remembers the visitor who placed it. The sale is given to the last visit that visitor began before the order, within 30 days. An order with no visit is given to nothing. That is an order you made by hand, an invoice, or a sale on a page of your own that does not count visits. It is in every total that counts sales and in none that says where sales came from. Bought is sales that came from a visit, over visits, so it never counts those. An order’s own page says the same under Came From: the channel, the website or search engine, the campaign’s tags and the page the visitor landed on.A site of your own
A page of yours is a visit when it loadsshoply.js and starts it. An order made there through the embed or the Checkout Kit is then filed under that visit. See counting visits.
