Your store comes with a site of its own. If you already have a site, or want one that is yours from the first line, there are three ways to sell from it. They run from the least work to the most control, and one site can use more than one. On a site built with npm, the three are packages too, with types and React components: see npm and React.

What they share

  • Shoply takes the payment. The embed and the kit are frames of Shoply’s checkout, and shoply.js sends the buyer to it. Card details never touch your page.
  • An order is an order. It is in your dashboard, delivers as any other does, and reaches your webhooks.
  • No secret goes in a page. None of the three uses an API key. A key is for your server: see the API reference.

Where they differ

Counting visits

A page that loads shoply.js and starts it is counted in your store’s analytics. An order made through the embed or the kit on such a page is filed under that visit, so Analytics can say where the sale came from. A page without it counts no visit, and its orders came from none.
