A plan is your account’s, and covers every store you own. Every plan has every feature and takes no fee on a sale. What changes from one to the next is how much room your stores have, and the support you get. A plan is paid from your account’s balance, which you top up in crypto. See Billing.

Your plan

Account Settings, then Subscription, shows the plan you are on and what renews it, the three plans, every limit side by side, and what the store you have open uses of each. While you are on Starter, See Plans in the box over the store switcher opens it too.

Buying and changing a plan

Each plan’s button says what pressing it does, and opens what it would cost before anything is taken.
  • From Starter, a plan starts today at its whole price, paid from your balance, and renews on the same day each month or year.
  • Moving up, to a larger plan or from monthly to yearly, happens at once. On the same term your renewal day stays and you pay the difference for the days left. From monthly to yearly a new year starts today, and what is left of your month comes off its price.
  • Moving down, to a smaller plan or from yearly to monthly, happens when what you paid for runs out. Nothing is given back, and until then Keep with your plan’s name takes the change back.
  • Cancel Plan stops your plan renewing. You keep it until what you paid for runs out, nothing more is taken from your balance, and then your account moves to Starter. Until then Keep with your plan’s name undoes it, and it renews as before.
Where your balance does not cover what is due, the dialog says how much more, with Top Up for the difference. Nothing is taken until you press Pay.

Renewals

On its renewal day your plan is paid from your balance. If your balance will not cover it, you are emailed 7 days before and again the day before. If it still does not cover it, the plan is overdue. A red bar across the top of the dashboard says so, with Top Up. Your stores keep selling, but nothing your plan governs can be changed until it is paid: products, stock, categories, coupons, upsells, subscriptions, storefronts, your team, API keys, webhooks and apps, a platform migration and a new store. Orders, delivery, refunds, customers, tickets and settings stay open. You are emailed the day it becomes overdue, three days later, and the day before the next step: after 7 days your account moves to Starter. A top-up that covers it pays it as it arrives, from the day it was due. Somebody on your team sees the bar too, without Top Up.

What each plan holds

A limit marked “per store” is each store’s own: an account on Business with three stores has 200 products in each.

At a limit

A store at a limit keeps everything it has, and cannot add another until it is under it again. The dashboard says which limit it has reached where you would add one.

Moving to a smaller plan

Nothing is deleted, and you choose what stays. Before the move, the dialog asks which stores stay open and, in each, which products stay on sale; to start with, the ones that sold most in the last 30 days. When the move happens:
  • Stores past the smaller plan’s number close to buyers, as a store Shoply has taken offline does. Orders already paid still complete.
  • Products past a store’s number are hidden, marked Hidden by Plan on your products list, and can’t be bought anywhere.
  • API keys, webhooks and files past the smaller plan’s numbers keep working, and nothing new can be added past them.
Change What Stays, over the plans on the Subscription tab, picks again at any time. Move up again and everything comes back as it was.

With the API

What a key can add is the store’s plan’s. While the store’s owner’s plan is overdue, a key’s request that would change what the plan governs is refused 402 with the code plan_overdue, and says when the account moves to Starter (movesAt); reading is never refused. A request past a limit is refused as it always was, with the same code (product_limit, webhook_limit and the rest), and its message names the plan’s number. Get the team answers the store’s teams and people in limits.
