What only you can do
You own the store. Its address on myshoply.gg and its own domain are yours alone to change, whatever a team holds. Everything else, your payment methods, API keys and the team itself included, is something you can give a team.Making a team
Add Team opens the team’s dialog. Give it a name, up to 40 characters, and choose what it can do under What This Team Can Do. Start From fills the list in for you:
Under it, every permission is listed in the groups the dashboard’s menu has, each with a line saying what it allows. Change any tick after picking a starting point. A permission that needs another brings it along: ticking Change Products ticks View Products too.
Permissions are small on purpose. View Orders shows the orders, and not the keys and files they delivered, which is See What Was Delivered. Neither shows the store’s revenue, which is See Sales Figures.
Sensitive permissions
Some permissions reach the store’s money, its buyers’ goods or its security, and are marked Sensitive in the list:
Giving a team a sensitive permission asks you to confirm it is you. A team’s card says how many it holds.
Inviting people
Invite People at the top of the page, or Invite on a team’s card, asks which team, and how:
An invite works for 7 days. Until it is taken up it is under Waiting to Join, below the teams, where Send Again sends an email invite again, Make a New Link replaces a link (the old one stops working), and Cancel Invite takes it back.
Joining
The link opens a page saying which store, who invited them, which team, and what that team can do. Somebody signed in presses Join. Somebody who is not signs in, or makes a Shoply account, which is free and theirs to keep, and comes back to the same page. An emailed invite needs the account with that address, and the address confirmed. The store is then in their store switcher, under Stores You Help Run, beside any stores of their own. You are emailed when somebody joins. What someone on a team sees
The dashboard shows a person only what their team can open: the menu leaves out the pages they cannot use, as do Settings and the search. A page they reach by its address says their team can’t open it.- Without See Sales Figures, the Dashboard shows no revenue and no chart, and any card with money on it is left off. Analytics shows visits without their money.
- Without See What Was Delivered, an order says how many keys or files it delivered, never what they were.
- The setup checklist is yours, and is not shown to them.
Someone who manages the team
A person whose team has Manage the Team can make teams, invite and remove people and move them between teams. They can never give more than they can do themselves: a permission their own team lacks is locked in the dialog. Nor can they change, delete, invite people to, or move people into or out of a team that holds anything their own team lacks.Changing who is where
Open a team’s card to see its people, each with when they were last seen. A person’s menu has:
Removing somebody also stops every API key they made and every app they connected at the store, and takes away the webhooks those keys and apps made. The dialog says how many. An app is disconnected as if you had disconnected it, and is told.
Anybody on a team can leave a store: Leave This Store on their own row. A team with people on it cannot be deleted: move them or remove them first. Edit Team and Delete Team are in a team’s menu.
Who did what
Activity, the page’s second tab, lists every change made on the dashboard and every export, with who made it, their team and when. Narrow it to one person with Who, or to one part of the dashboard with Area. It keeps a year. An order’s timeline names who did each thing: a person (“By Mila”), an API key, or an app. Where somebody on a team changes something that keeps the store safe, such as a payment method’s keys, the email Shoply sends about it goes to you, and names them.Teams through the API
A key withteam.read reads the teams, their people and Activity, and one with team.write makes and changes teams, invites people, moves and removes them: Get the team and the routes beside it. A key cannot give a team a sensitive permission: that is done on the dashboard, by somebody who confirms it is them.
The store’s server is told by the team.created, team.updated, team.deleted, team.member_joined, team.member_moved and team.member_left events. See Webhook events.
