# Set up Pandabase

> Where your Pandabase API token is, and which permissions it needs

Pandabase is the seller of record: it sells to the buyer, adds any tax their country wants, and pays you.

## In Pandabase

1. In your store's dashboard, open **Settings**, **Developers**, then **API Tokens**, and make a token.
2. Give it read access to the store, orders and webhooks, and write access to orders, refunds and webhooks.
3. Copy the token's secret, which starts with `sk_`. Its ID, which starts with `stk_`, is not the one.
4. Note your store's ID, which starts with `shp_`.

There is nothing else to set up in Pandabase: saving puts Shoply's webhook in your store.

## In Shoply

1. In your Shoply dashboard, open **Settings**, then **Payment Methods**.
2. Under **Add a Payment Method**, find **Pandabase** and press **Connect**.
3. Paste the store's ID into **Store ID** and the secret into **API Token**.
4. Press **Test Connection** to try what you pasted, then **Connect App**.

A token without a permission Shoply needs is refused at the save, and Shoply says which permission it lacks.

How Pandabase works once it is connected, at the checkout and on an order, is in [Payment methods](/guides/payment-methods.md#pandabase).
