# What a buyer is sent

> What a buyer is sent when an order is paid: license keys, files, instructions, or the answer of your own server

An order is delivered the moment it is paid. What it bought is shown on the checkout page the buyer is on, sent to their email, and kept in their customer panel at your store. Nobody has to press anything.

Each variant says what it delivers, and can do more than one of these at once.

> **License keys**
>
> A key from the variant's stock, one for each unit bought. You paste the keys in, one a line, or add them with the API.

> **Files**
>
> Up to three files a variant, of up to 100 MB each: ZIP, RAR, 7z, PDF, MP4, MP3, WAV, EPUB, EXE, DMG, MSI or APK. Buyers get a link that only they can use.

> **Instructions**
>
> Text of your own, sent with the order: how to redeem, where to go next. For one variant, or for every variant of a product.

> **Dynamic**
>
> Shoply asks your server for the goods, and sends the buyer what it answers. See [dynamic delivery](/guides/dynamic-delivery.md).

## Instructions for every variant

A product's **Variants** tab starts with **Instructions for Every Variant**: instructions sent with the order whichever variant was bought, so they are written once. A variant's own instructions are still sent, after them, and a variant that sends nothing else sends these.

To set them on many products at once, tick the products in the list, press **Update** and choose **Delivery**. A variant's own instructions are not changed from there.

What a buyer was sent is kept with their order, so changing the instructions later does not change orders already paid.

## Asking the buyer first

A variant can also ask the buyer questions before they pay, such as a username to add them by, and the answers are on the order and in the request to your own server. See [custom fields](/guides/custom-fields.md).

## An order is never half delivered

An order completes only if every line can be delivered in full. If a variant is one key short, the order is not completed and nothing is handed over, and you are told which lines are short.

Two people paying for the last key at the same moment cannot both get it: a key is taken from stock in the same step that completes the order.

## When something does not arrive

> **The buyer did not get the email**
>
> What they bought is also on their checkout page and in their customer panel, at `your-store.myshoply.gg/customer-panel`, where they sign in with a code sent to the email they bought with. You can send the delivery email again from the order's page.

> **A key did not work**
>
> **Re-deliver** on the order's page gives the buyer fresh keys and emails them. The keys the order held before are revoked. They do not go back into stock.

> **A dynamic delivery failed**
>
> It is tried again by itself for most of a day. **Retry** on the order's page asks your server again at once.

> **The money reached you another way**
>
> **Mark as Paid** on a pending or cancelled order completes it as a payment would.

Each of those is also a route of the API: see [Orders](/api-reference/orders/list-orders.md).
